The 1861 census has her and Mary and Walter living as lodgers with a Henry Dalton, under her maiden name. The 1871 census has her living now under the name of Wiltshire, as a servant (house keeper) to the same Henry Dalton. The 1881 census list her as an "Annuitant", however a probate search shows that neither Henry Dalton nor her father left a will, so the source of her annuity remains a mystery.
Clara was never married to Henry Dalton although it is believed that he was the father of Mary, Walter and Alice.
Death registered in the district of Dartford, sub-district Dartford by William R Sledman, Master of the Union Workhouse, Dartford on 4th January 1898, entry no. 245. Cause of death given as Paralysis, Exhaustion and Coma, certified by R.R. Alton FRCS.
